NBC + Michaels
THE CAUSE: As one of the first series out of the gates of the newly minted Universal Alternative Television Studio, NBC’s Making It (formerly The Handmade Project) saw no better way to produce a show elevating the community of crafters than in collaboration with one of its lifelong residents. Michaels, the inarguable standard-bearer for makers, approached the network after the upfront announcement, seeking any and all opportunities to be an integral part of the process.
THE EFFECT: True to the singular nature of every craft, a proposal was constructed with every facet – from language to design – handmade specifically for Michaels. On a patchwork and eye-catching canvas embodying the lighthearted sensibility of the show, a mix of color and imagination painted a potential partnership that would see the client splashed across every corner of the picture. Encompassing scalable elements including physical production assets, in-show callouts, on-air + digital exclusive content, companion series and off-channel opportunities, this tailored presentation remained budget-flexible while threading Michaels meticulously into the Making It tapestry.
